Broadcom - 1 - HFBR-14xxZ and HFBR-24xxZ Series Low-Cost, 820 nm Miniature Link Fiber Optic Components with ST, SMA, SC, and FC Ports Data Sheet Description The 820 nm Miniature Link Series of components is designed to provide cost-eff ective, high-performance fi ber optic communication links for information systems and industrial applications with link distances of several kilometers. With the HFBR-24x6Z, the 125 MHz analog receiver, data rates of up to 160 MBaud can be attained. Transmitters and receivers are directly compatible with popular “industry-standard” connectors: ST, SMA, SC, and FC. They are completely specifi ed with multiple fi ber sizes; including 50/125 μm, 62.5/125 μm, 100/140 μm, and 200 μm. Products are available in various options. For example, transmitters with the improved protection option P show an increased ESD resistance to the pins. This HFBR-141xPxZ integrated solution is realized by including a Zener diode parallel to the LED. The HFBR-14x4Z high-power transmitter and HFBR-24x6Z 125 MHz receiver pair up to provide a duplex solution optimized for 100BASE-SX. 100BASE-SX is a Fast Ethernet Standard (100 Mb/s) at 850 nm on multimode fi ber. Evaluation kits are available for ST products, including transmitter, receiver, eval board, and technical literature.
